Their closest machine has 32 cores, eight fewer. In exchange it is an Ice Lake platform with PCIe 4.0, which matters if you plan to add fast NVMe. Leaseweb's 48-core R750 on the Gold 5318Y was listed at €269.12, still on the 30 TB volume.

How these were read: Leaseweb's configurator and public catalogue in September 2026, cheapest listing for each specification. Leaseweb counts cores per processor; the counts above are per machine. Their euro prices exclude VAT. Ours are US dollar totals read live from our configurator; a custom build adds a one-time setup fee of $29, and a ready dual Xeon ordered as it stands has none.

Fit

When to stay with Leaseweb, and when to move

Leaseweb runs a large network and a broad catalogue. A Leaseweb dedicated server alternative only makes sense if what you need is on the list on the right.

Leaseweb fits better if you need

  • Facilities in countries outside our map. Our dedicated servers run in New York, Bucharest, San Francisco, Miami and Amsterdam.
  • Colocation racks in the same facility as your rented servers.
  • The lowest price for a 32 GB machine with two 2 TB disks: their Xeon E3-1230 v2 at €51.26 on an annual promotion (€56.96 paid monthly) beats our nearest build. That processor launched in 2012.
  • A promotional rate that happens to be running in the hall you want.

Server Room fits better if you want

  • List price without a term, and the option to leave at the end of any month.
  • A port where traffic is not counted, so egress never becomes a line item.
  • A ready server in about 30 minutes (a custom configuration: 4 to 24 hours), ordered at a checkout with no sales call.
  • Root access plus the server's own iLO, iDRAC or BMC, so a bad kernel or firewall rule is yours to fix from the console.

Migration

Moving a server off Leaseweb

Order matters more than speed in a move. These are the steps we suggest, in sequence.

  1. Order the matched buildPick the pair above that fits, or build your own in the configurator. Run the new server next to the old one until you have verified it.
  2. Watch Leaseweb's volume during the copyInbound traffic here is not billed and the port is unmetered. Outbound from Leaseweb counts against their 30 TB volume, so schedule a large copy where it will not tip you over.
  3. Plan for new IP addressesAddresses belong to the network that announces them and do not move between providers. List everything pinned to a literal IP: API allow-lists, SPF records, partner firewalls.
  4. Lower DNS TTLs, then cut overDrop TTLs a day ahead, switch the records, and keep the Leaseweb server until traffic on it falls to zero.

Is there a Leaseweb alternative without a one-year term?

Yes. Server Room charges the list price on a monthly cycle with nothing to sign, so the 16-core match on this page is $121.67 a month with no commitment. Three, six and twelve-month cycles exist for a discount of up to 15%, and they are optional.

Where can I get a bare-metal dedicated server with no setup fee?

Order one of our ready dual Xeon servers as it stands and there is no setup fee. A custom configuration adds $29 once, and the entry cartridge server carries its own one-time fee of $13. Leaseweb waives setup on stock servers and one-year terms and charges €49 on a custom build billed monthly.

Is there a monthly traffic cap like Leaseweb's 30 TB volume?

No. Our ports are unmetered, which means traffic is not counted in either direction at any speed we sell. 1 Gbps comes with the dual Xeon builds; 10 Gbps and up are added to the same server for a monthly fee.

Is Server Room cheaper than Leaseweb?

Can I bring my Leaseweb IP addresses with me?

No. IP addresses belong to the network that announces them, so every move between providers ends with a DNS change to new addresses. Lower your TTLs a day ahead and find anything that trusts a fixed IP before you switch.
