Your channel on Samsung and LG TVs, packaged from your panel

One HTML5 app, packaged as a Samsung .wgt and an LG .ipk, carrying your live channel, your on-demand library and your branding. You submit both from your own seller accounts. Every paid live streaming, CDN and VOD plan includes it.

On screen

Four screens, all driven by the arrow keys, OK and Back. Every one of them reads its content from your channel's live feed.

Home

Your cover image behind a Watch live button, then rails for Live, Latest videos and Continue watching.

Live player

When the channel is off air, or a stream fails, a "back soon" slate re-reads the feed and retries every 30 seconds, with a Try now button. A start or rebuffer that runs past 25 seconds becomes that slate, never an endless spinner.

Video on demand

A detail page with Play or Resume, seeking in 10-second steps that speed up while the key is held, resume points and favourites stored on the TV, and search across the library. The rails appear only when the channel has videos.

About

Your description and contact details, plus QR codes for the website, the social profiles and the phone number, since nobody types a URL with a remote.

Certification behaviour, built in

Samsung and LG both test the app on real sets before listing it. These are the behaviours their reviewers check for, and the template implements each one.

Focus
A visible focus ring on exactly one element at all times.
Back
Goes up one level everywhere. On Home it opens an exit dialog on Samsung and hands over to the system's own exit on LG.
Multitasking
Live closes when the app is hidden and reopens at the live edge; video on demand suspends and resumes at its position.
Screensaver
Held off during playback on Samsung, released again otherwise.
Network
A banner on connection loss, and a fresh feed and retry when the connection returns.

From profile to package

The name, icons, splash, identifiers and colours are fixed in each build. Videos, links and contact details arrive through the feed, so they change without a resubmission.

1 · Profile
A square logo of at least 1024 px, and a cover of at least 1920 × 1080 for the splash and the store backgrounds.
2 · Rights
Before the first build, the panel asks you to confirm you hold the rights to everything the channel streams.
3 · Generate
The LG build is an .ipk ready to submit. The Samsung build is signed with the .p12 pair you upload; without it, the panel returns the Tizen source for you to sign in Tizen Studio.
4 · Publish
From your own accounts, with the Samsung Seller Office and LG Seller Lounge guides.

Store terms, before you commit

Neither store is quick, and Samsung limits where a new seller can launch. Plan the release date around these.

StoreAccountWhere you can launchSigningReview
Samsung Seller Office Joins as a public seller United States only; other countries require partner status, granted by Samsung Your own author and distributor certificates; every update needs the original author certificate Certification, typically a few weeks
LG Seller Lounge Free, individual or company The countries LG's store serves, with no partner step None on your side; LG signs the .ipk QA, typically several weeks, repeated for every update

Eligibility

Every paid live streaming, CDN and VOD plan includes the Smart TV app. The free tiers do not.

Questions

Which TV models are supported?

Samsung sets on Tizen 4.0 or later and LG sets on webOS 4.x or later, which means 2018 models onward on both brands. The bundle is compiled down to the oldest browser engine in that range, so the same package runs across all of them.

Is a Samsung launch limited to the United States?

For a new seller, yes: Seller Office admits newcomers as public sellers, who can launch in the US. Distribution elsewhere needs partner status, which you request from Samsung and Samsung decides. LG has no equivalent step.

What are the author and distributor certificates for?

They are Samsung's code-signing identity for your app, created in Tizen Studio's Certificate Manager against your Samsung account. The author certificate is the permanent one: Samsung rejects any update not signed with the certificate the app was first published with, so back up the .p12 and its password.

How long do the reviews take?

Samsung's certification typically runs a few weeks; LG's QA runs several weeks and can stretch to months. Both stores review every update, not only the first submission.

Is there a paywall or a viewer sign-in?

Neither. The app has no account system, no subscription gate and no advertising, and it ships no third-party analytics.

What happens on screen when the channel is off air?

The live player shows a "back soon" slate with a countdown and retries every 30 seconds; viewers can force a retry at once. On-demand videos remain playable while the channel is down.

Are Roku, Fire TV or Android TV covered?

No. The generator targets Samsung Tizen and LG webOS only.
