Bare metal server pricing comes in two parts: the machine, which you pick on the dedicated server range, and a short list of extras around it. This page prices the extras, from the same order catalogue the checkout bills from: port speed, addresses, setup, discounts, support, licences, backups, tax and refunds.

In the monthly price
What the machine's price already covers
The figure the configurator shows for a machine is a server you can use the day it is handed over. Nothing that it needs to run is sold back to you as an extra.
- The whole machine: every core, all the memory and the disks you chose. No other customer and no hypervisor on it unless you install one.
- A network port at its included speed, unmetered. There is no transfer allowance, so there is nothing to exceed.
- One IPv4 address comes with every machine, with an IPv6 block at no charge on every line that offers IPv6.
- Root or Administrator access, and operating system reinstalls from the control panel as often as you like. Linux images cost nothing.
- Basic support: chat answered in seconds by an AI assistant that can check your account and your server, a person as soon as you ask for one, a reply within 12 hours and failed hardware replaced within 24 hours.
Lines that never appear on the invoice
- A charge per terabyte or per gigabyte moved. Cloud platforms meter outbound traffic; here the port speed is the only network price.
- A bandwidth overage line, at any port speed.
- A contract. The server runs month to month until you cancel it, unless you choose a minimum term for its discount.
- A higher list price at renewal than the one you ordered at.
Port speed
The port ladder and what each upgrade costs
The included speed costs nothing. A faster port swaps in for a fixed monthly figure; an idle port and one held at line rate for thirty days cost exactly that figure.

IP addresses
Extra IP addresses
More IPv4 addresses are sold in steps, and each step is one monthly price for the whole set. Pick the count in the configurator and the price replaces the one before it.
Smaller lines sell fewer steps, and some only the one included address; the configurator shows each line's own. IPv6 is assigned in blocks, and the configurator marks which blocks are included.

Setup fees
When a setup fee applies, and when it does not
A ready server ordered as it stands pays no setup fee, unless its line carries one of its own: the AMD Opteron X2150 line ($13). Change a hardware line on it (processor, memory, disks, port speed, addresses or city) and it becomes a custom configuration, which pays $29 once on the first invoice.
Lines with no ready unit are built to order, so they always carry that fee. Changing the support tier, the operating system or the billing cycle keeps a ready server ready. Some licences carry a setup fee of their own, listed with them in the licences section.
A ready server is online in about 30 minutes once payment is approved; a custom build takes 4 to 24 hours. Ready machines are listed on instant servers.

Discounts
Paying ahead and committing to a term
Two separate discounts, and they multiply. Paying 3, 6 or 12 months ahead takes 5%, 10% and 15% off the server's lines, in that order. Committing to keep the server 3, 6, 12 or 24 months takes a further 1%, 2%, 3% and 6%, also in that order.
Hardware lines take both: processor, memory, disks, port, IPv4 steps, plus the support tier and any backup plan. Software takes neither. A Windows, cPanel, Plesk or Nexo licence is billed as list price multiplied by months, whatever the cycle or term. One-time fees stay at face value.
A minimum term is a promise to keep the server that long. The configurator only offers terms at least as long as the billing cycle. When the committed months have been invoiced, the term discount drops off and the server continues uncommitted. Cancelling early means one closing invoice for the unbilled months, at the committed rate.

Support and management
Basic support is included; faster support is a tier
Every server comes with Basic. A paid tier shortens the reply and the hardware replacement times and adds uptime monitoring, from $19 a month on rack and blade servers and less on Moonshot cartridges. The tier can be changed later without touching the server.

Licences
Windows, cPanel, Plesk and Nexo: what each licence adds
Every Linux image is free. Windows Server and the hosting control panels are monthly licences on the server's own invoice, and we install them before the machine is handed over.
Windows Server Standard and Datacenter are priced on the processor: one flat price up to 8 cores in total, then a price for every core once the machine has more. Essentials is priced per processor socket. On the 16-core machine in the worked example below, Standard costs $41.44 a month.
cPanel and Plesk carry a one-time setup on top of the monthly licence; Nexo, the panel we build, has none. Licences take no discount for paying ahead. More on the panel we build is on Nexo.

Backups
Recovery points, priced by how far back they reach
Backup is an add-on line from $7 a month. The agent captures whole-disk recovery points from inside the running machine; nothing reboots.
Points land in a Google Drive account you own, not on our storage, so budget Drive capacity separately: a whole server rarely fits in the 15 GB Google gives away. Each plan in the configurator states roughly how much space it uses.
Backup and Backup Advanced start with the first month free: the server runs Backup Advanced for its first 30 days, and the first backup invoice is credited one month of the plan you chose. Backups take the pay-ahead discount like the hardware does.

Currency and tax
Euros in Europe, and the tax the checkout adds
Amsterdam and Bucharest invoice in euros; the numerals match what New York, Miami or San Francisco charge in dollars. A line built only in Europe is priced in euros everywhere it is listed. Every price on this page and in the configurator is before tax.
The configurator estimates the tax from the country you connect from and names the rate. Your billing address sets the exact figure before you pay.
Which tax, on which machine
- New York, Miami and San Francisco: sales tax only for a New York State billing address, and then on software lines only, meaning a Windows licence, a control panel or a media server licence. The server, its port, its addresses and setup fees carry none. An exemption certificate on the billing record removes it.
- Amsterdam and Bucharest: a billing address in Romania pays Romanian VAT. Elsewhere in the EU the country's standard VAT rate applies, unless your VAT ID validates in VIES, in which case the invoice is reverse charge with no VAT on it. A billing address outside the EU pays no VAT.
Renewal, refunds, payment
Renewal at the price you ordered at, and a three-day refund window
Renewal
Each renewal repeats the first invoice's recurring lines at their original figures; the one-time setup items do not come back. There is no introductory rate that steps up later. Two changes you can see coming: a ready server's discount covers its first month only, so the second invoice bills the list price; and a minimum term's discount ends when its months are billed.
Refunds
Ask within three calendar days of activation and the refund is pro rata, worked at the monthly price whatever cycle you paid for, less a 15% administrative fee. Custom configurations, and build-to-order machines you agreed to wait for, are not refundable. The full terms are in the refund policy.
Payment
Card, PayPal and bank transfer, plus the wallets and local bank methods the checkout lists for your country. A card or PayPal account on file pays renewals as they fall due, and every invoice and receipt is kept in the client area.
Worked example
A full monthly bill, worked through
The cheapest rack server line, AMD Opteron 6300, ordered in New York on monthly billing, carrying one of each extra: port upgrade, second IPv4 step, a paid support tier, backup and a cPanel Premier 100 Domains licence. Every figure is read from the catalogue for that line.
It comes to $212.36 a month, and $264.35 on the first invoice once the one-time fees and the backup credit are counted. The port and address changes alone would make it a custom configuration. A billing address in New York State would add sales tax to the licence line, and to nothing else.

Before tax. The 12-month figure takes 15% off every line except the cPanel Premier 100 Domains licence, which is billed at 12 times its monthly price. The configurator rounds each line on its own, so its quote can differ by a cent.

Questions about bare metal server pricing
How much does a bare metal server cost per month?
The machine starts at $5 a month, and at $51.86 for a full-size rack server, and the dedicated server range gives the price of every line. Anything beyond that is an extra you opt into, each listed on this page with its figure. A machine with none of them costs the configurator's price plus any tax.
Is bandwidth included in bare metal server pricing?
Yes. The included port is unmetered: no transfer quota exists, so no overage can be billed. Upgrading the speed changes one fixed monthly line; traffic volume never appears on the invoice.
Is there a setup fee?
Not on a ready server ordered as it stands, unless its line has a fee of its own: the AMD Opteron X2150 line ($13). A custom configuration, meaning any hardware change to a ready server or a line with nothing ready, pays $29 once on the first invoice. cPanel and Plesk licences carry their own one-time setup.
Does the price go up at renewal?
No. Renewals repeat the recurring lines at the figures you ordered at, minus the one-time setup items. Are taxes included in the price?
No, prices are before tax. Machines in US cities carry New York sales tax on software licences only, and only for a New York State billing address. Machines in Amsterdam and Bucharest carry VAT for billing addresses in the EU, unless a VAT ID validated in VIES makes the invoice reverse charge.
How much is a Windows Server licence on a dedicated server?
It depends on the processor. Standard and Datacenter cost one flat monthly price up to 8 cores and a price per core above that; Essentials is priced per socket. On the machine in the worked example, Standard is $41.44 a month. Linux images are free.
