We sell dedicated servers, so read this as one provider's comparison. Rival figures are each host's own published list prices from September 2026, in the currency they quote and before VAT. Our figures are read live from the catalogue our checkout bills from. Where another host fits a job better, we say so further down.

A lot of memory in the entry box for the price, and traffic sold as unlimited under a fair usage policy. Contabo quotes about 90 minutes to deliver. Our entry rack server has less memory, hardware RAID and a port nobody counts.
Server Room vs ContaboStrong price per core if Germany or Finland suits your users. Standard models arrive in minutes; add a 10G uplink and it becomes a custom build of a few business days with 20 TB included. We are the closer option for users in the US or Eastern Europe.
Server Room vs HetznerThe closest to us in shape: US-based, deploys in about ten minutes, no setup fee on outlet stock, and many more cities. Traffic comes in metered tiers. Ours is unmetered on every line.
Server Room vs HivelocityA large network across nine regions. The lowest prices need a one-year term and come with a metered 30 TB volume, and delivery runs from one hour to five business days. We bill month to month.
Server Room vs LeasewebA worldwide footprint and its own network. Rise servers start around $70 with a setup fee that can equal a month's rent, and delivery takes hours to days. Kimsufi is cheaper on older machines.
Server Room vs OVHcloudBare metal in more than 30 locations with no setup fee, but the entry plan sits in four of them and transfer past 5 to 10 TB is billed per gigabyte. If you need a city we are not in, start there.
Server Room vs VultrBandwidth
Most of the difference between these hosts shows up on the traffic line of the invoice, not the server line.
Nobody counts your bytes. The port speed is the limit and the bill does not move with traffic. This is how every Server Room line is sold: traffic is not an option on the order form, so there is no allowance to run out of and no overage line.
Also no byte count, but with a policy behind it. Contabo's help centre says outgoing traffic has to match a typical server workload and that it may throttle a server at its discretion. No number is published, so you find the line when you cross it.
A monthly volume, then a price per GB or TB. Vultr, Leaseweb and Hetzner's 10G uplinks work this way. It suits light, bursty traffic. It costs real money on a server that streams or serves downloads all month.

Checklist

On list price, our Moonshot cartridge is the lowest here at $5 a month (AMD Opteron X2150 APU, 4 cores 1.1GHz · 8 GB DDR3 · 1 × SATA-SSD 32 GB · 500 Mbps), plus $13 once. It is a small machine for one job. Among the other six, OVHcloud's Kimsufi line starts lowest, then Hivelocity's outlet stock. The cheapest server is rarely the cheapest year, so add the setup fee, any traffic overage and any minimum term before you compare.
Yes. Contabo sells server traffic as unlimited, but its help centre says outgoing traffic must stay in line with typical server workloads, and that it may throttle a server at its own discretion if usage is exceptionally high. It publishes no number. Our ports are unmetered: traffic is not counted or billed, and the port speed is the limit.
Look for unmetered traffic on a port sized for your load, not "unlimited" with a fair usage policy. A 1 Gbps port running flat out moves about 320 TB in a 30-day month. Every Server Room line is unmetered, rack servers include 1 Gbps, and 10 Gbps is $529 a month on the lines that sell it.
Some do. In September 2026 Hetzner charged from $59, OVHcloud up to a month's rent on Rise, and Leaseweb €49 on custom builds, while Contabo, Hivelocity and Vultr charged nothing on entry servers. We charge nothing on a ready server ordered as it stands, $29 once on a custom build and $13 once on the entry cartridge.
A ready server is handed over in about 30 minutes once payment review clears. A custom build takes 4 to 24 hours. By their own figures, Hivelocity takes about ten minutes, Contabo about 90, and Leaseweb from one hour to five business days.
