About Server Room
Server Room is Data Room, Inc. of Long Island City, New York, and Data Room SRL of Bucharest, Romania. We own the servers we rent out, we run the network they sit on under our own registration, AS19624, and an engineer who can reach the rack is on shift at every hour, for every one of the five rooms above. This page is what you would want to know about us before you pay us — written so that each line can be checked from outside.
The shift log
Seven entries, in the order a careful buyer asks them. Each one names where the fact can be checked.
Two privately held companies, one in each country we operate from, run by the same small team. Data Room, Inc. was incorporated in New York on 21 October 2004; “Server Room” is its registered trade name, filed with the state in July 2005. Data Room SRL was registered in Romania on 28 October 2008; its registered seat and the server room it runs are one building, the Feper building in Bucharest. There is no parent group above either and no upstream host between a customer and the metal.
The president of both is Stefan Botez, who is also the technical contact on the network registration. The name in the public records is the name that answers here.
On a card or PayPal statement we appear as Data Room Inc or Data Room SRL, not Server Room — the trade name and the legal names differ, and six customers a year ask why. Invoices carry the legal name and address of the company you contracted with.
Whole physical servers, one customer per machine, and the things a server needs around it: a port nobody meters, an address, a console that works before the operating system boots, and people on shift who can walk to the rack. We also run streaming infrastructure for internet radio and video, which is where the company started and why the network was built for sustained traffic rather than bursts.
What we do not do: we do not resell another company’s servers, we do not slice one machine between tenants and call it dedicated, and we do not sell “the latest”. We sell the machine that fits the job — often an older, cheaper and perfectly serviceable one — deliberately, with the reasons written down.

Since 2004, and every date here is a public filing or our own books. Data Room, Inc. was incorporated on 21 October 2004 and the first customer accounts were opened the same year. The trade name was filed in July 2005. The company registered with ARIN in February 2006 and was assigned AS19624 that March; the network has been ours ever since. Data Room SRL followed in October 2008, and our own IPv6 allocation that December; our own IPv4 block in March 2014.
The figure we are proudest of is not a count. Customers who opened accounts in 2005 are still with us.
Five cities, and the servers in each are ours. The building, the carriers, the test addresses and the speed tests are on each city’s own page; this is only the list, with the operator of each building named once.
An engineer, at any hour, who can reach the rack. That is what the agreement commits us to: if the network is unreachable for more than fifteen consecutive minutes, credit starts accruing; if a part fails, we replace it within four hours of your notice, and the credit ladder past that is printed rather than negotiated.
What “24/7” means here, plainly. The live chat is answered first by our assistant, and a person takes over the moment you ask for one — ask for a person and it hands you across. The phone numbers ring the team, not a call centre. If something is not moving, ask for it to be escalated and it will be. Terms are monthly and you may leave at the end of any month.
